It took me all morning to watch an hour and a half movie

It took me all morning to watch an hour and a half movie.  Okay, who decided the weather was too bad to have school today?  From here anyway, the weather looks fine, sunny skies providing an abundance of brightness in my windows and might I add, warmth!

So, I went to the Red Box yesterday and rented two movies, how in the world do I find enough time to watch two movies.  I chose the movies I wanted to watch and really didn't care if anyone else in my family enjoyed them, I figured they were all doing their thing, so I would do mine.  I chose "Four Christmases" which I watched last night, it was okay.  Then this morning, I decided I was going to watch the other one, so I could return both movies this afternoon, "Julia & Julie" was the other movie and yes, it literally took me all morning to watch it!  Between cooking breakfast, lunch, breaking up fights and vacuuming, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit.  Some may not enjoy it, but it really hit home for me.  For those of you who have not saw it, it is really about cooking and how this young girl finds herself through cooking and blogging.
The funny thing is, the first recipe she cooks is Beef Bourguignon, it looked fantastic.  After watching the movie, I got my mail and quickly looked through the inserts, so I could throw them in the trash, occasionally I find a recipe in the relish insert, the recipe for Beef Bourguignon was in there.  How ironic is that!  So I think I will try it, not tonight, but I will let you know how it turns out.
So, I found it quite interesting how she was blogging about recipes, kind of like I am trying to do.  Maybe I should try blogging about new recipes that I try out?  Well, if there is anyone out there reading, I will try this.  I will continue to post my weekly grocery list and recipes that I plan to make, since I have four guys to cook for, including three kids, I don't think French Cuisine would make a big statement around my house.
Just some of New Year's resolutions;
  • Make a apron, kind of old fashion, yes, but there is some really cute designs now days, I will keep you posted on that, including pictures of my progress.
  • Make curtains for my kitchen
  • Make roman shades for my dining room
  • Chair pads for my willow tree chairs in our living room
  • Work on my son's scrapbook
  • Try 2-3 new recipes every week
Well, that's this months goals, I will keep you updated.
Enjoy the snow and Stay Warm!
